* Ribosomal protein S28e signature *
************************************
A number of eukaryotic and archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped
on the basis of sequence similarities. One of these families consists of:
- Mammalian S28 [1].
- Arabidopsis thaliana S28 [2].
- Fungi S33 [3].
These proteins have from 64 to 69 amino acids. As a signature pattern we
selected a perfectly conserved decapeptide from the C-terminal extremity of
these proteins.
-Consensus pattern: E-S-E-R-E-A-R-R-L-R>
-Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL.
-Other sequence(s) detected in SWISS-PROT: NONE.
-Last update: June 1994 / First entry.
